Tummy Time Fun!
Play music or video to motivate your child during tummy time
The app communicates wirelessly with a sensor that you clip to your child's shirt. The sensor detects the position of your child. When the child pushes up from a flat, prone position, it triggers the app to play a song or video. You choose your child's favorite song or video to play! It can be anything that is stored on your iPhone or iPad.
You can make the task easier or harder for your child. To make it easy, set the trigger point so that she only needs to push up slightly from prone to start the music or video. And when she pushes up past the trigger point, even if only for an instant, you can have the app play the music for up to 10 seconds. That's a great reward! As she gets stronger, then set the trigger point so that she has to push up higher, and set the music or video duration to shorter times. She will have to work harder for her reward. |
How to get started
The Tummy Time Fun app is free to download from the App Store. You can try it out with the iPhone or iPad as your sensor, but a mobile device is too big and heavy to attach to your child. For proper use of this app, you need to purchase a small, lightweight, wireless sensor from the MBient Labs. Click or tap at this link and select the MetaMotionR with clip to purchase.
